This report summarizes the discusssions of the International Workshop on Global Mire and Peatland Conservation held in Brisbane, Australia on March 18, 1996 in conjunction with the Sixth Meeting of the Conference of the Contracting Parties to the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance (the Ramsar Convention).
